The Memphis Music and Heritage Festival will take place at the Center for Southern Folklore from September 1 to 2. Admission is free and the festival is expected to attract at least 30,000 people.
The festival will feature 5 stages featuring musical performances, cooking demonstrations, dance, storytelling, and more. Arts and crafts vendors will also be selling their items during the festival. Guests can expect to see such items as folk art, jewelry, wood carvings, paintings, clothing, and photographs.
Vendors can rent space for $250 or $300 depending on location. They receive a 10’ x 10’ space with one or two tables, two chairs, and electricity. It seems probable that those who plan to sell their arts and crafts at the festival will be contacting Memphis printing companies for help. It will be up to each vendor to make their booth attractive and services such as banner printing and sign printing can definitely help with that. A colorful banner, with the artist's name or specialty, hung over a booth can draw more shoppers to that area. Vendors might also want to arrange for business card printing in advance. They could place a business card in with a purchase or hand them out to interested passers-by, possibly resulting in commissions to create art on demand for clients.
The Center for Southern Folklore is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the heritage of the American South. They do this partly through living history recordings, documentary films and, of course, through the Memphis Music and Heritage Festival.
