Earth Day is coming up this April, and there will be plenty of opportunities for families in Memphis to celebrate. Two such events will be taking place at Shelby Park Farms.
The first celebration will be the ‘Eco-eggstravaganza’ at the start of the month. It will consist of music from artists like the Owen Sisters and Wild Willie, magic shows, egg crafts and hunts, and environmental exhibits. Other activities will include a fishing rodeo for kids between 8 and 16, archery, and inflatables, although these come with extra fees. There will also be several food trucks.
In addition, vendors will be on hand to sell green-related merchandise and arts and crafts. There will also be speakers and exhibits from local environmental organizations.
Later on in the month, the 4th Earth Day 5K is set to take place. Fees are $25 in advance or $30 on the day. There will be live music, a tree planting, and awards in various categories. Everyone who finishes receives a tree sapling.

The Eco-eggstravaganza is taking place on April 4 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission is $5 for children aged 12 and under and free for adults.
