Memphis bakery teaches pie-making

A workshop in Memphis will be teaching people how to make top-notch pie crusts.

Thank Goodness for Apple Pie! will show participants how to make an all-butter, flaky pie crust and a traditional apple pie from scratch in this hands-on baking class. The class, taught by a local bakery and pie shop Muddy’s Bake Shop, is intended to help home bakers build confidence in their pastry-making skills. Led by a professional instructor and geared toward the Thanksgiving season, participants are walked through the steps of making an apple pie from scratch in a casual, interactive setting.

Students receive instruction by demonstration and active participation in a class setting where each person has their own work station. The group then replicates the entire recipe together so that everyone walks away having made the dish. Students will also gain insight into methods used in professional kitchens that can be transferred to other dishes they make at home. At the conclusion of the session, students take home a finished pie they can bake when they’re ready along with the recipes. Classes are for adults fifteen and older with no prior baking experience required.

The goal of these and other Muddy’s classes is to bring the fun and satisfaction of baking to people of all levels. Promotional Pens could be shared at such an event.

Thank goodness for Apple Pie! will be held at 2497 Broad Avenue on November 22nd.
