The Memphis Italian Festival is taking place next month for three days.
The festival will be celebrating the Italian culture with a variety of activities that will appeal to people of all ages. The Riceland Cooking Tent will be presenting cooking demonstrations, Luigi's Cafe will offer a variety of food for purchase and Luigi's market will feature over 40 arts and crafts as well as general merchandise vendors.
Several contests are open to the public. Included is the Spaghetti Gravy Contest for cash prizes. Participants have to provide a 20-ounce sample to the judges. Cash prizes will be awarded in several categories including People's Choice and Team Showmanship. Other contests are for Best Booth, Homemade Wine, Best Happy Hour Drink, and Best T-shirt.
Other activities will include volleyball and cornhole tournament, musical performances, and the Luigi 5K race. There will also be a bocce tournament for teams of up to five with cash prizes; participation fees are $240 per team and prizes will be awarded to the top four.
Luigi Land is set to feature lots of fun for the kids, including games and carnival rides.

The Memphis Italian Festival will be held at the Holy Rosary Parish from June 2 to 4. Admission is $5 on June 2 and $8 on each of the other two days.
