Canadian play to stop by in Memphis

A play that tells the story of how a tiny Canadian town pulled together to help on 9/11 is making a stop in Memphis, and tickets for the experience are on offer now.

Come From Away, which will be staged at The Orpheum Theatre Memphis, has won several awards and was written by David Hein and Irene Sankoff. The director’s role is being performed by Christopher Ashley, and its run time is approximately 100 minutes.

The play recounts how Gander, which is a small Cold War era airbase in the province of Newfoundland, accommodated planes from all over the world that were stranded on September 11, 2001. The writers use story and song to share how people found ways to overcome barriers such as language to ensure all the passengers had what they needed while they were guests in the community. The audience is invited to sing along.

These performances are being staged by a touring company. A poster printing company will be able to help bring about ticket sales for this sort of theatrical performance by creating a variety of promotional items that may be used to market the activity.

The Orpheum Theatre will be telling this inspiring tale in Memphis from October 5 to October 10. There are various times for the public to choose from, with full details on the theater’s website.
