Anime conference returns to Memphis

Next month, the 4th annual Anime Blues Con is coming back to Memphis.

The theme of this year's convention is the video game and cartoon Pokémon, and one of the major events will be the formal Poke Ball, which will feature a cosplay contest. There are also going to be several dance parties and appearances by actors, directors, and performers.

Guests can choose between several tracks, such as adult, cosplay/costuming, geek, and social gaming. There will be a variety of activities, such as forums and performances, in each track. Of course, people can deviate from them depending on their personal interests.

Some of the confirmed guests for this year are actors Eric Vale and Marianne Miller, voice over artist Christopher Sabat, and Samurai Dan and Jillian, who perform martial arts-inspired stage show. More are expected to be announced closer to the date.

Last year's convention attracted over 2,700 visitors and it is expected that more will attend this Memphis event this year. Local stationery printers are often sought to help get more people out to events like this by providing advertising products, such as flyers and booklets.

The Anime Blues Con is being held at the Memphis Cook Convention Center from June 20 to 22. A three-day pass is $35. To learn more about this year's convention, visit the official website.
