The Spinning Babies Workshop next month will train Sioux Falls birth professionals to utilize a lesser-known physiological technique to help women more easily give birth.
Spinning Babies is an organization that follows a newly emerging paradigm in caring for pregnant women and their babies during childbirth. It offers training programs that teach a physiological approach to improving fetal rotations, or the way in which a baby turns as it moves through the pelvis during birth.
Next month’s workshop will be a foundational class focusing on core concepts that must be learned before proceeding to more advanced workshops. The class is ideal for doulas, midwives, nurses, obstetricians, childbirth educators, and prenatal yoga instructors, among others. Attendees will learn how to provide clients with a more comfortable labor experience, how to improve fetal position, and identify any issues in labor more quickly.
There will be coffee, tea, and snacks served, and an hour-long lunch break will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to go out to eat with new friends or pack a lunch. During events like this, participants often get opportunities to network with like-minded peers, which may include exchanging Business Cards.
The birth workshop is scheduled for August 4 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. It will be at First Congregational Church on 300 South Minnesota Ave, Jones Hall, Sioux Falls. The class registration fee is $215.
