Sioux Falls travels back in time to the Renaissance

This year is the 18th Annual Siouxland Renaissance Festival, which will be held at the W. H. Lyons fairgrounds in Sioux Falls. The festival boasts live entertainment, historical education, and family-friendly fun.

The association that runs the festival is a volunteer-based non-profit group that focuses on education through reenactment, engagement, and participation. The festival asks people approach the fairgrounds from the north entrance. There will likely be Signs and possibly volunteers directing traffic.

There will be numerous vendors at the fair, covering wares from food and games, to jewelry and clothing. Many of these vendors will likely have Business Cards on hand, and may have special products or pricing for the festival.

Live entertainment is plentiful at the festival. There are four stages, and each will have different performers. There will also be groups of performers wandering the festival and entertaining on the go. Musicians, jugglers, Tumblers, actors, and jousters will keep the crowd entertained over the weekend.

The festival will run for two days, Saturday and Sunday, with the dates being June 8 and 9. The festival opens at 10:00 am on both days, but closes at 7:00 on Saturday, and 6 on Sunday. Tickets bought beforehand are $12, or $6 for seniors and children. At the gate tickets are $15, or $6 for seniors and children.
