Sioux Falls to participate in Mental Health Alliance Day

Mindcare Today Mental Health Resources Magazine will present the National Mental Health Alliance Day in Sioux Falls this August.

Mindcare Today is a printed publication based in Plano, Texas that provides a simplified way for people to find mental health resources and provider referrals. The publication has partnered with several cities and states across the country to hold a nationwide conference next month that will deal with mental health topics and issues.

The conference is open to a broad cross-section of the community, including healthcare organizations, nonprofits, tribal leaders, mental health professionals, social workers, psychologists, and alcohol and drug counselors. One of the headlining presentations will be from The Confess Project of America, which supports local chapters of the organization that train stylists and barbers to become mental health advocates. There will also be an active shooter awareness class, fentanyl awareness class, human trafficking class, healthcare networking, and many more topics discussed.

Conferences that draw a diverse array of professionals may also provide an opportunity for those professionals to strengthen peer connections and widen their professional network by activities such as exchanging Business Cards.

The National Mental Health Alliance Day is scheduled for August 16 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. It will take place at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, located at 200 East 8th Street.
