A nonprofit organization called the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance has made good on its plans to purchase the Badlands Pawn building in Sioux Falls.
This nonprofit is made up of the Sioux Falls American Legion and VFW posts, with plans to occupy the old shop on 1600/1700 W. Russell St. in its continued efforts to support military groups in the region. Previously, American Legion Post had a meeting among 15 members in which they accepted an invitation to join the Military Heritage Alliance by relocating onto the vacant property.
At the moment, they are still trying to help veterans and their families assimilate into the rest of the community, according to Alliance Vice-Chair, Ken Teunissen. He has welcomed anyone who exhibits a love for the county to take part in this relocation process. Teunissen has declared the Alliance as the most innovative initiative in America.
The organization is attributing its success in covering the building expenses to generous private donations by nearby residents. Their facility has brought together multiple veteran groups and gives them a chance to celebrate their individual identities. They will also be feeding the homeless with their remaining funds.
The leadership of the alliance is expecting renovations to be completed by Spring 2020. Promotional Products handed out by charity organizations like this one would make good rewards for donors.
