Dinner Detective shows are vastly popular in Sioux Falls and are set in present-day dining halls, with one scheduled in a couple of weeks.
This murder mystery dinner show is a little different to others in that it does not display an overly dramatic performance involving. Instead, these actors will be dressed in formal suits and blend in with the crowd while they enjoy their meals.
There will be no exaggerated dancing and singing to entertain the guests. In this dinner event, guests have to figure out whether the person sitting next to them is an actor or just another patron. In many past shows, the performers do not reveal who they are until someone “dies”. Then, the detectives would investigate people and uncover clues as the mystery unravels.
Near the end, whoever manages to solve the crime is rewarded with generous prizes. Guests will be served a special four-course plate combo for dinner. This includes coffee and tea beverages. On the menu are such following entrees as grilled chicken breast, pasta alfredo, or pork tenderloin with roasted potatoes.
Guests should expect to hear the sound of imitation gunshots and witness unpredictable blackouts used in the performance. They can choose to not participate, but may still be interrogated by other audience members.
This Dinner Detective show is going to be hosted on April 4 at the Sheraton Sioux Falls. It is still going ahead at the time of writing, but it would be advisable to double check its situation. Shows like this can put up decorations bought from local Print shops.
