Friends of the Big Sioux River (FBSR) is set to hold its 3rd Annual 2024 Big Sioux Film Festival, a fundraiser in support of conservation efforts of Big Sioux River and its watershed.
FBSR is a conservation organization with the mission of restoring and further protect ingthe Big Sioux River, an integral source of drinking water for the community. The river also holds vast historic significance to the indigenous tribes of the area. The organization aims to build community involvement in restoring the health of the river and its watershed, with efforts to raise awareness of the importance of the river to the wider ecology of the region.
The film festival will begin with a cocktail hour in which attendees will enjoy hors d'oeuvres and local beer and kombucha tastings. There will also be a silent auction for attendees to bid in, which will involve luxury items, services, and packages. The film portion will screen three short films about the Big Sioux River, which are Land Val·ues, Watershed Warriors, and Waterway Jay.
