The 2023 Soil Health Conference will be held in Sioux Falls in January, bringing together agricultural professionals to brainstorm land management solutions.
The conference will be hosted by the South Dakota Soil Health Coalition, a membership-driven, producer-led non-profit organization whose vision is to improve soil health and promote sustainable agricultural production. The organization was created out of the need for collective action among agricultural producers, and to provide outreach and education about sustainable soil practices.
The Soil Health Conference is held every year to gather land management professionals and agricultural producers in one space to facilitate effective dialogue about current problems and possible solutions. This year will feature keynote speakers Mitchell Hora, Dr. Kris Nicols, and Rick Clark. There will also be breakout sessions that attendees can participate in, as well as discussion panels about land management challenges. Demonstrations will be going on, and vendor booths will be set up. Other activities include student contests and awards presentations.
Events that feature panels and demonstrations will often include educational poster displays, with which local Print shops offering poster printing can help.
The conference will take place on January 24 and January 25. The hosing venue will be the Best Western Plus Ramkota Hotel, which is located at 3200 West Maple Street, Sioux Falls. Students pay no admission fee, while other professionals will pay $50.
