Courage and leadership course planned for Sioux Falls

Sioux Falls business and community leaders should note that a six-week leadership course called Dare to Lead will begin in January 2021 and run through the middle of February 2021.

Based on the extensive research of Dr. Brené Brown, a research professor of social work at the University of Houston, the Dare to Lead workshop will focus on how to build courage and lean into vulnerability to become a more daring leader. Lisa Brouwer, who is a certified Dare to Lead facilitator, will guide students through developing four courage-based skillsets, based on vulnerability, values, trust, and learning to rise.

The workshop is designed for anyone who wishes to become a more effective leader, such as educators, businesspeople, healthcare workers, and non-profit employees. Attendees will partake in group discussions, self-reflection, experiential learning, and short videos by Brené Brown. Brouwer recommends that prospective students listen to the first episode of Brown’s podcast to better understand what the course is about.

Dare to Lead will take place at The Country Club of Sioux Falls from January 12 through February 16, held every Tuesday from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.com, with prices ranging from $597 to $797. All course materials, including workbooks, will be included in ticket purchase, so organizers may have need of Stationery printers.
