Bike ride to help Sioux Falls families

Next month, the charity bike ride Pedal FARR, Falls Area River Ride, will encourage cyclists to bike to raise money for Sioux Falls Families battling cancer.

Pedal FARR is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to support Sioux Falls families battling cancer. Celebrating its sixth year, the biking event is a 25-mile bike in which riders can stop at breweries along the way. Cyclists pay a registration fee to participate, and 100% of the proceeds will go towards supporting those local families.

The event specifically honors a local pro cyclist, Chris Krueger, who passed away in 2016. The route biked will honor his passion by having Chris’ jersey and bike on display. There will also be some special mini events along the route to celebrate his life.

The bike ride will stop at six breweries or bars, not including the start and finish brewery. There will also be water stops with snacks for cyclists to refuel, as well as food trucks and music festivities at each stop. During such fundraising events, sponsoring businesses often hold raffles for a chance to win swag and Promotional Products.

The Pedal FARR event is scheduled for August 14, from 11:30 am to 8:00 pm. The start and finish location, Remedy Brewery, is at 401 E. 8th Street. Tickets range from $25 to $47.
