2020 Polar Plunge to break the ice at Sioux Falls

The 2020 Polar Plunge, an athlete program and fundraiser launched by the South Dakota Law Enforcement, will allow daring participants get to jump into frigid waters at one of nine possible locations in South Dakota, including Sioux Falls.

The Polar Plunge will raise money to support club athletes and sports teams by partnering with businesses and organizations in the area. At this event, participants can register to dive into a lake in winter, netting some rewards if they contribute more than the $100 threshold. They are going to be judged based on their team attire, so creative outfits are a welcome addition.

As the J & L versus Black Hills Harley-Davidson competition heats up, the plunge crew is looking forward to seeing who will take home this year’s trophy. There will be food and beverages offered to plungers which includes alcohol and custom-made souvenirs, like the Harley-Davidson bandana.

Mini competitions are being held and will feature beer distributors, schools, and banks. Each division could potentially earn unique prizes as determined by category. A raffle drawing is also taking place for every 25 students at the Polar Plunge contest. The winner will receive a generous $500 scholarship for paying off their college tuition.

Residents in Sioux Falls can prepare for the 2020 Polar Plunge at J & L Harley-Davidson, which as of the time of writing is still set to occur on Saturday, May 30 starting at 1:00 pm. Promotional Products are often given away as prizes in contests such as this one.
