Knowing how to use a knife properly can make food preparation less of a chore, and it can also lead to better kitchen safety. A Warwick area class will teach skills that anyone, from the kitchen newbie to the experienced home chef, can put to use.
The workshop, which is being offered by Stock Culinary Goods, will give learners knowledge they can use to cut food quickly and safely. They will also learn about the importance of using high quality cutting instruments and that keeping them sharp can be an important piece of knife safety.
The instructors for the class will discuss and provide examples of how to correctly hold a knife as well as different types of blades and what they should be used for. They will also share tricks that can make food prep a lot more fun, and chopping and dicing will be reviewed.
Each person who registers for the session has been asked to bring along their own knife to use, and it will be sharpened for free as part of the event. Handouts and other visual learning materials can be prepared for a seminar like this by local Print shops.
Stock Culinary Goods will be offering this workshop on September 19. It will take place on 756 Hope Street, and the registration fee is $17.
