Rhode Island Foundation offers students scholarships

The Rhode Island Foundation (RIF) has announced that it is willing to allocate $500,000 to assist local students and their relations.

Individuals and organizations have come together to help provide the support in question through the provision of scholarship funds. Therefore, students will be able to get hold of resources so that they can afford Books, costs, and tuition fees.

Some of the funding can only be accessed by students from specific districts like Warwick or Cranston. However, other money is reserved for individuals in particular sets of circumstances.

If the RIF wants to make these criteria widely known throughout Rhode Island it could contact a Print company in Warwick. Leaflets could direct people back to a website which features all the relevant information.

Neil Steinberg, the chief executive officer of the RIF, has said:

“Every one of these scholarships makes dreams come true for our donors and our recipients. The impact of their generosity will ripple through Rhode Island for generations.”

Warwick residents are catered for by a range of awards. These include the Daniel Brian Cohen Scholarship and the Marissa Salabert Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The special requirements of women have been recognized. Hence the likes of childcare are provided for in a few instances by the Rhode Island Commission on Women/Freda Goldman Education Award.

During 2014, the RIF spent nearly $35m on grants. Much of this money went towards community assistance.
