Traveling exhibition lands in Providence this May

The 148th annual Traveling Show at the Rhode Island Watercolor Society is taking place in Providence, beginning this May.

The event will start off with a gala opening reception. This will feature appetizers, drinks and a demonstration by Carole Berren. Guests will also be able to get an early look at the entire exhibition. Tickets for this cost $25 each.

As the name of the organization suggests, all of the displayed works are watercolor paintings. Among those being exhibited include the Gold medal winner Dean Mitchell and his work ‘The Artist Bob Ragland’, silver medal winner Mike Kowalski's ‘Read all about it’, and bronze winner Lynn McLean and her ‘Road Chatter 47’. Other artists who are featured include Anne Abgott, James Maria, and Betty Brown.

It is likely that this exhibition will attract visitors from all over Rhode Island and not just Providence. Local poster printing companies are often asked to help market such events by providing Posters to be distributed throughout the area.

The Traveling Show at Rhode Island Watercolor Society will take place at the RIWS Gallery from May 9 until June 14. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Sunday from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Admission is free. The opening reception will be held on May 9 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
