Tesla to establish hub in Providence

Providence is going to be the site of a new service center and showroom for the Tesla Company.

According to former Providence mayor Joseph R. Paolino Jr., the Providence Hub, as it will be known, will be in the neighborhood of Reservoir Triangle at Mashapaug Commons Plaza where Stop & Shop was located. As a Tesla regional hub, the site will include a repair facility and delivery center, as well as containing a retail sales area.

Up until now, Paolino’s company has been managing the retrofitting of the location, which has included a new roof, HVAC system and the installation of garage doors. Tesla will soon assume responsibility for the renovations with an anticipated opening date sometime in early 2024.

Paolina explained that he considered Tesla locating in the Reservoir Triangle area to be significant news, further elaborating he said:

“I think it’s a great infusion of dollars and job creation and activity that can help sustain that neighborhood.”

A new business entering an area frequently prompts other local businesses to confer with their local Print shops to re-evaluate their marketing strategy.

According to the company’s website, Bald Hill Road, located in Warwick, has the only other Tesla store in the state. At 76,000-square feet, the new Providence location will be among the largest in New England.

It is anticipated that electric vehicles will become more common on RI roads as the state moves toward the zero-emissions vehicle standards of California.
