Take part in some summer networking
The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce is holding a Summer Networking Soiree at Aqua at the Providence Marriott Downtown on July 19 from 5:30 am - 7:30 pm. The event is free to members of the Chamber.
The event is sponsored by the Roger Williams University School of Graduate and Continuing Studies. It will feature a night of networking, cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres. There will also be a cash bar.
Networking opportunities definitely become less frequent during the summer. So many people are either going on holiday or spending their time catching up on projects that they have let slide. Therefore, business professionals should take advantage of any chances to get together with their peers. This event will let them connect with any Providence Chamber members who they have not yet had the chance to meet. Of course, everyone will be arranging for business card printing before the event to ensure they have enough cards to hand out and that their current cards are in good shape. While this will primarily be a social event at a dramatic local venue, there will be lots of time to exchange business cards.
Summer time is a good time for business leaders to take stock of how strong their referral network is and to rethink their networking strategies if they do not seem to be bringing in as much new business as expected. It is also a good time to follow up with those you met during the rest of the year and just to remind them of what you can do for their business.
