RIBC to host winter blood drive

The Rhode Island Blood Center (RIBC) is partnering with WPRI 12 and the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) to hold a community blood drive in the Grand Lobby of the PPAC.

Located at 220 Weybosset Street in Providence, the PPAC has hosted blood drives before. Twice since October 2020, the Theater has turned its Grand Lobby into a blood drive location.

President and CEO of PPAC, J.L. Singleton, commented on how well the Theater’s Grand Lobby was suited for this type of event, mainly attributable to its large capacity. Acknowledging the blood supply shortage the state is facing, Singleton expressed his organization’s desire to assist RIBC in addressing this emergency.

Many businesses recognize the importance of hosting events to benefit the community, as well as giving away small Promotional Products at these events to build their name recognition.

The RIBC’s Account Manager, Glenn Halvarson, was expressed his gratitude for the partnership with PPAC, emphasising how important it is that blood supplies remain at safe levels all year round.

Those who choose to donate blood at the PPAC event, which is scheduled to take place 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Wednesday, February 9, can park for free on the Theatre’s Page Street side.

The first 50 donors will be given a $10 PieZoni’s gift card as a thank you.
