Providence Zoo reveals Winter Event Schedule

The Roger Williams Park Zoo has recently released its winter schedule of events, including its annual Free Admission Day.

The winter calendar of events begins with National ‘Visit the Zoo’ Day on December 27, when a gift of non-perishable food for the Rhode Island Food Bank will grant people free entry. Providence residents can visit between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. This opportunity to affordably take the whole family to see how some of the zoo’s animals prefer the cooler temperature and become more active conveniently falls during winter school holidays.

Other opportunities to see the zoo animals frolicking in the cooler temperatures will occur during Half-Price Winter Wonder Days lasting from January 1 through February 28 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Thursday through Monday. Tickets for Half-Price Winter Wonder Days must be purchased online in advance here.

Zoos have a variety of uses for banner printing, Booklets, Postcards, and Posters that Print shops can supply.

Finally, two Winter Zoo-Cation Camps have been scheduled for school holidays – Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the February School Vacation Week. The first a one-day camp will take place January 16 while the second will be from February 20 to 24. Both will offer campers inquiry-driven, hands-on activities, crafts and experiences with wild animal ambassadors.

More information on these Zoo-Cation Camps is available on the zoo’s website.
