The 11-person ensemble Leonid & Friends, comprising musicians from Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, and Russia, will be at the Performing Arts Center here in Providence in June.
The group, specializing in recreating the music and spirit of the renown American band Chicago, has travelled the world performing before a diverse array of audiences. On April 3, tickets for their Providence concert went on sale as part of the local venue’s Cool Summer Nights concert series.
Ticket prices for the event start as low as $10 and continue up with $25, $35, and $45 tickets available. Additionally, limited pit seating can be purchased at $74.50. A meet and greet with the group after the performance can be added for an additional $50.
Banner printing services are engaged by many venues to announce an upcoming event.
The group’s founder and musical director Leonid Vorobyev recorded a cover of “A Brand New Love Affair” by Chicago in 2014 as a celebratory cap to his retirement from sound engineering. Gathering his friends after transcribing it by ear, he made a recording of the song.
Leonid & Friend’s videos have garnered more than 150 million views and acquired in excess of 700,000 social media followers. The group have given more than 200 performances in the U.S.
The Providence performance will take place June 25 at 7 pm. Proceeds will go to the Dorcas International Institute of RI to help Ukrainian refugees.
