FirstWorks is celebrating its 10th anniversary this August in Providence. This will consist of a gala reception and a downtown carnival.
The gala is set to feature gourmet food, cocktails, and entertainment. It will also be honoring founding board member Fred Butler. There will be performances from Strange Fruit, RPM Voices, and local rising stars to entertain guests. Proceeds from the event will go to support FirstWorks arts education programs. Tickets are $110 each and sponsorships are also available.
The FirstWorks Urban Carnevale will take place a couple of days after the gala. Performers from Australia, Morocco, Italy, and Rhode Island will take to the downtown streets for this free event. Performers include Ribab Fusion, Oumou Sangare, and the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino. There will also be a visual arts display from The Avenue Concept.
It is likely that organizers approached Providence poster printing firms to help them advertise for this special occasion. Posters can be displayed in public buildings, in local shopping malls, and even in bus shelters to help spread the word about upcoming events.
The FirstWorks anniversary gala is being held at the Providence Biltmore Hotel on September 18th from 6:00pm - 9:00pm.
The FirstWorks Urban Carnevale will take place in downtown Providence on September 20th.
