At the 52nd annual Wickford Art Festival is taking place next month, a portion of the proceeds will go to support the Wickford Art Association's (WAA) Scholarship Fund for local high school students who plan to attend an art college.
The popular festival is known to attract at least 10,000 visitors to the area each year. More than 250 jury-chosen artists (local, national and international), are expected to be selling their paintings, photographs, sculptures and other works of art over the weekend. There will also be musical entertainment and the annual Scholarship Raffle of Fine Art. Visitors are sure to find something unique that they will want to purchase for their homes or as a gift.
Artisans were able to rent booths for $200 for WAA members or $240 for non-members. Many of the artists, some of whom may reside in Providence, may have decided to look into postcard printing services from their favorite company. A postcard is often used as a business card by artists and can be given out to anyone who visits the booth or purchases a piece of art.
The Wickford Art Festival will take place on the streets of Wickford Village from July 12 to 13, beginning at 10:00 AM each day. For more information about the festival, which is free to attend, call 401-294-6840.
