The Rhode Island Spring Flower and Garden Show is returning to Providence this February for four days, and is presented in association with the Rhode Island Horticultural Society.
This year's theme is ‘garden adventures’, and there will be plenty of interactive activities for visitors of all ages to participate in. Among the displays will be a full-sized fairy house, a tree house, and a tunnel garden. The Kids Adventure Zone, hosted by the Rhode Island Environmental Education Association, is set to feature storytelling, puppet shows, face painting, scavenger hunts, and live animals.
For the adults there will be seminars on topics like growing and cooking food all year round, renewing a garden, and a history of the venue. Demonstrations of container gardening and growing roses will also be viewable. The marketplace will feature a range of local businesses, many of which are related to gardening.
For those who want an early look at the show, the preview party will be held on February 18 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Tickets are $75 and proceeds will benefit the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
