The Steelwalker tours will be hosted near Quakertown this fall.
SteelStacks is scheduled to reintroduce its weekend Steelwalker tours this fall and will hold them until Sunday, December 27. Unlike previous years, the tours will not include the Hoover-Mason Trestle, as this particular attraction is closed to the public.
In small groups of six individuals at a time, guests from Quakertown and other locations will be able to experience a guided tour of the Bethlehem Steel plant. Guides who were once steelworkers will guide participants around the site and explain the history of the Lehigh Valley iron industry, the opening of the Bethlehem Plant, the plant’s important role in both of the World Wars, and its eventually closing. Organizers of touring events frequently use brochure printing to provide informative event-related materials for guests who will be participating in the tours.
Registration is available only on the SteelStacks official website. Tickets to the event cost $15 per person, and children 12 years old or younger can attend for free. Parking spaces for vehicles across the street from the event location are free of charge.
Next month, the Steelwalker tours will take place at the National Museum of Industrial History in Bethlehem beginning on Sunday, November 1. Tours will continue to occur every weekend from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm through sun or rain.
