Zombies to reunite for tour

The four surviving members of the British band The Zombies are reuniting for a new tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their album ‘Odessey and Oracle’.

The North American part of the tour starts in Glenside on March 17, 2017. The Zombies were part of the so-called ‘British Invasion’ most notably embodied in the Beatles, and their biggest hits were ‘She’s Not There’ and ‘Time of the Season’.

The upcoming tour is part of a projected two-year celebration that includes a book release in March 2017. The book is a coffee table volume about the making of ‘Odessey and Oracle’, and features artwork by Terry Quirk, who designed the album cover, as well as handwritten lyrics. The book release coincides with the tour kick-off.

The Zombies who are on this tour include the band’s founding members Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent. Blunstone is a vocalist, and Argent handles vocals as well as piano and organ. Others in the band this time around are Chris White, the band’s original bassist, and Hugh Grundy, The Zombies’ original drummer. Rounding out the lineup are bassist Jim Rodford, his son Steve, and guitarist Tom Toomey.

Although the concert is months away, tickets are already on sale. Events like these can benefit if organizers work with flyer printing companies, who can create mailers for area-wide Mailing and distribution.
