Tribute band coming to Glenside

A band is on its way to Glenside to pay tribute to one of the biggest acts ever.

ABBAFAB honors ABBA, the Swedish pop group that dominated the charts in the 1970s and 1980s, turning out hit after hit like “Dancing Queen,” “Fernando,” and “Mamma Mia,” which also became the title of two films based on the original band.

ABBA first got together in Stockholm in 1970, and sold more than 375 million records in their career, making them one of the best-selling bands in history. Two to three million ABBA albums are still sold annually. In 2010, ABBA was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

ABBAFAB is comprised of Nick Davies, Scotty Pearson, Chelsea Faulds, and Anne Davies, all of whom are professional musicians and have toured internationally as members of other bands. ABBAFAB's shows are about 90 minutes long, and are multimedia presentations. The band performs some of the best-known songs from the original ABBA catalog, but concentrates more on the music found in the two movies about the group, since younger audiences are more likely to know the films than the original band. Brochure printing can create programs for this type of concert.

“They were amazing, a real crowd winner. Also extremely professional. Excellent voices and musicians.”

ABBAFAB will be at the Keswick Theatre on September 12, at 7:30 pm, with the doors opening at 6:30 pm.
