One of rock's biggest names is coming to Glenside to make the winter a little hotter.
Dweezil Zappa is bringing his ‘Hot Rats Live! + Other Hot Stuff 1969’ tour to the Keswick Theatre. The son of singer/songwriter Frank Zappa, Dweezil was surrounded by professional musicians all of his life, so his decision to also join the entertainment industry is not surprising. However, while his father is often though of because of his skill as a composer, Dweezil is known for his skill as a guitarist.
The “Hot Rats” album was released by Frank Zappa in 1969, and has been remixed and re-released several times. The work has been recognized as one of the most important albums in rock and roll history. Dweezil and his band are featuring the “Hot Rats” album on the current tour.
Dweezil has worked hard to create his own legacy, rather than allowing his father's legacy to overshadow him. One reviewer noted that Frank was considered both a composer and a performer, and his works were meant to be played, either by himself or someone else, provided the artists had the:
“…musicality, dexterity and incredible memory to undertake this task with credibility, and Dweezil, and his band, showed that they have these qualities by the bucketful.”
Dweezil Zappa will appear at the Keswick Theatre on March 8, at 8:00 pm. Doors open one hour before show time. Poster printing is often used for publicity when events like this are scheduled.
