Aimee Mann is an accomplished singer, songwriter, bassist, and guitarist, and now her fans in Glenside have a chance to see her in person, when she goes on tour this year.
She has just announced plans for a full tour of the United States that includes a stop at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside. The tour supports her new record, ‘Mental Illness’.
Mann got her start in the 1980s playing bass for 'Til Tuesday, a new wave band. She was with them from 1983 until 1990, when she left to go out on her own. She put out eight albums, and continued her solo career until 2013, when she teamed up with Ted Leo on a project called #BOTH. They scheduled shows in both San Francisco and Los Angeles, and later changed the name of the band to The Both. In 2014, they released a self-titled debut album that Mann cowrote. In addition, she performed vocals and played bass.
‘Mental Illness’, Mann's first new record in five years, will be released March 31. The album is on Mann's own label, SuperEgo.
Tickets for the Glenside show, which is on April 21, are on sale now. Events like this can benefit if organizers work with a booklet printing company, which can create a program for the concert that also includes details of the artist's life and career.
