Glenside to host babysitting training event for youths

This April, the Babysitting Certification Course is set to take place in Glenside.

Hosted by Springfield Township Parks and Recreation, this course is designed for young people who wish to develop their babysitting skills and grow their confidence in caring for small children.

The course will involve American Red Cross Certification so that successful graduates can get babysitting jobs more easily by having official credentials to show to future employers. Topics that the program include are how to handle different behaviors from small children properly, how to take care of infants, and how to deal with emergencies.

Students who attend the course from beginning to end and successfully pass all evaluations will be eligible for the American Red Cross Certification Card.

Any person between ages 11 years old and 15 years old can pre-register to attend the in-person course. The enrollment fee is priced at $85 for nonresidents and $75 for permanent residents who live in Glenside. All attendees are requested to each bring a snack, lunch, and a pencil with them to the event. Brochure printing is often a part of event hosts’ organizing plans so that informative Copies that summarize event details are available to each participant.

The Babysitting Certification Course is scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 17 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
