Abington Arts Center will present Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” in several outdoor performances this August.
The play is being produced in partnership with Theatre on the Verge and is directed by Marian Barshinger. Abington Arts will be offering free admission on several dates this August. The event is open to anyone in the area, including residents of Glenside and other nearby towns. While tickets are free, space is limited, so those planning to attend should reserve tickets in advance through either the Abington Arts Center website or the Theatre on the Verge website. The performance will take place outside as part of Abington Arts’ Shakespeare on the Lawn program. Attendees should bring chairs or blankets for seating and are welcome to bring their own snacks.
The show will run about two hours and has a PG rating for its humor and intense dramatic situations. The theater promises opulent settings, entertaining verbal sparring, romance and betrayal. Donations to support Theatre on the Verge are encouraged and can be made on the theater’s website. Local theaters often use banner printing services to promote their productions.
“Much Ado About Nothing” will run at Abington Arts Center from Thursday, August 11 to Saturday, August 13 and Thursday, August 18 to Saturday, August 20 at 7:00 pm and at Green Lane Park on Saturday, August 27 at 5:00 pm.
