Community college to host girls STEM conference

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is hosting an event for middle school girls this March.

The Lansdale branch of the AAUW and Montgomery County Community College will jointly present “Discover Your Future.” The event will include a keynote speaker and a series of smaller workshops designed to help girls explore career options in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The event organizers hope to provide both information and role models for getting involved in these careers.

Girls in 5th through 8th grades and their parents are invited to the event. Parents can listen to the keynote speaker and then attend their own presentation and tour led by the community college. The event costs $10 per student, and the parent presentation is free. Those planning to attend can purchase tickets through Eventbrite. The event is open to students from Glenside and any other towns in the area. Water and snacks will be provided, but attendees should bring their own lunches.

AAUW works to empower women and girls by eliminating the gender pay gap, advocating for laws that support gender equity and supporting women’s education. Organizations often use Graphic Design Services to create digital Flyers and materials for this type of event.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, at Montgomery County Community College’s Blue Bell campus.
