Tommy Emmanuel will appear at the Keswick Theatre for one performance, and is likely to bring down the house with his virtuosity. Jason Isbell, a fellow guitarist who has won the Grammy four times, says:
“If you like guitar playing, it simply doesn’t get any better than Tommy.”
Tommy Emmanuel has been performing since he was a child in Australia, where he toured with his family band when he was six. By the time he was 30, he was touring Europe as a lead guitarist, and when he was 44, Chet Atkins named Emmanuel a Certified Guitar Player, one of only five artists to win the distinction. He is recognized as a master of the acoustic guitar, and enjoys playing with other guitarists, feeling the energy of other artists.
His 2018 album, “Accomplice One,” illustrates his gift of collaborating with others. Some of the tracks are original and others are covers, and include “Deep River Blues” with Jason Isbell.
A review of Emmanuel in concert says:
“He is a real class act and one of the best guitarists in the world. Such an honor to see him in person.”
Tommy Emmanuel will be in Glenside on September 25, at 7:30 pm. Brochure printing can be used to create programs for this type of performance.
