Ann Hampton Callaway coming to Dinos

Ann Hampton Callaway, the talented actor, pianist, composer, lyricist, composer and singer will perform at Dino’s, Glenside’s new retro nightclub, later this week.

Callaway has been nominated for a Tony, and just performed at Carnegie Hall with Liz Callaway, her sister. She is noted for her own music, as well as her interpretations of standard Tin Pan Alley tunes. She has written songs for artists such as Barbra Streisand and Patti Lupone, and composed the theme song of ‘The Nanny’ television series.

Callaway has performed in the Philadelphia area many times, including an appearance with the Boston Pops, and she has enjoyed a warm welcome from her audiences. She notes that she enjoys exploring the city, and is looking forward to performing at Dino’s.

Dino’s, which opened in June, is a throwback to the nightclubs of the 1940s and 1950s. Run by Michael and Dino Kelly-Cataldi, the club features a huge crystal chandelier in the dining room, where tables are dressed with crisp white linen, and black-and-white photos cover the walls. Dino’s goes back to a time when people did not simply go out and grab something to eat; they dressed up, went to a fine-dining restaurant, had a cocktail, a meal, and then enjoyed a show.

Establishments like this can benefit by working with poster printing companies, which can create placards for each individual show.

The performance takes place this Friday, November 25. The show starts at 8:00 pm, with dinner served at 6:30 pm.
