Firefighters often have to deal with a variety of obstacles when dealing with a blaze, and a Butler short course will give them knowledge of what to do when they need to perform a forcible entry.
Local firefighters and any others who work or volunteer in the field will walk away from the Forcible Entry workshop being offered by BC3 Public Safety Training with practical skills they can use to gain access to a structure when the entrance has been blocked. Dan Thompson will provide the instruction, and while the fee to take part is $100, this will be waived for active Butler County Firefighters.
During the 16 hours of learning, the students will find out how a building’s construction plays an important role in how to gain entry, and they will be taught a variety of techniques that will allow them to do so quickly. The tools needed to do so will be reviewed, and there will be time in the schedule for the participants to ask questions.
Being part of a continuing education opportunity like this gives first responders a way to ensure their skillset is kept up to date. Offering each registrant a course kit including manuals, promotional Pens, and other materials will make it easier for them to gather as much information as possible.
BC3 Public Safety Training will be hosting this course starting on April 17. It is slated to take place at 107 College Drive in Butler.
