Butler County schedules annual Stand Down
The Butler County Standdown has a tradition of connecting veterans with supports and services on offer in their own home town, and this year it will be held in a new location.
The new venue for the activity will be the General Butler Vagabond Center, and early entry will be granted to those who present proof of their veteran status. The general public will be granted entry an hour later, and all activities will be free.
Those who attend the function will be able to learn about the services that may be of interest to former military members, and those who served their country will be served a free lunch. The information may also be helpful to the homeless and others in need. Giveaways of corporate gifts and other items will take place, and the attendees will also be able to meet and connect with other vets, which may be a helpful network for them to have.
To ensure that this year's Butler County Stand Down will be a success, its organizers announced that they are seeking both volunteers and vendors. They can be reached at butlercountystanddown@gmail.com.
This opportunity for Butler County veterans, as well as its homeless and anyone else who requires support, will be on offer on November 4. It has a scheduled start time of 11:00 am.
