A plan is in place in Oklahoma City for a mixed-use property development that will wrap around an apartment building.
At Broadway and Northwest 13, surrounding the Garage Loft Apartments is vacant land that will be made into offices, retail space, and apartments. The property used to be a Buick dealership.
The U-shaped development will be labeled ‘the Hub’ since it is located between Midtown in Automobile Alley and within short distance of a streetcar. When buildings have a unique name, they often have a Logo Design attached to it that is displayed outside.
The Hub will have a design that wraps around 113 Northwest 13 Garage Loft Apartments. It will also wrap around 1420 North Robinson, which used to be a one-story Safeway grocery opened in 1928.
The development will consist of multiple phases. The first will be a retail and office building five stories tall. On the corner of Northwest 13 and Broadway on the first floor, there will be a drive-through. The next phase will involve erecting five-story buildings with 225 total apartments on the corner of Northwest 13 and Robinson, which will surround a five-story garage with 336 parking spaces on the corner of Northwest 13 and Broadway.
Developer Richard Lebarthe hopes to finish financing and begin construction early next year once he has all the required permits. He also hopes to open just over a year after construction starts.
