A vote was delivered by Oklahoma City Council on January 13 to approve Lingo Construction to handle the construction management services for the planned for MAPS 4 Multipurpose Stadium.
The new stadium will anchor the planned-for sports and entertainment district that will border Bricktown to the south. In his comments about the vote, David Todd, the MAPS Program Manager, spoke of the expertise and track record Lingo will bring to the project.
Work on the stadium is expected to commence in Spring 2026 with the opening of the stadium scheduled for early 2028. Once operational, Echo Investment Capital will be in charge of operating the multipurpose stadium, which was designed by Populous. Banner printing services can make navigating large venues easier.
Funding for the stadium was provided by MAPS 4, Tax Increment Financing (TIF), the 2025 OKC Bond, and private contributions. MAPS 4 is a public improvement program, which raises money via a temporary penny sales tax that started April 1, 2020 and will end in 2028.
A United States Soccer Federation-approved field will be featured in the stadium that will serve as the home field for both men’s and women’s teams. Plans are for the stadium to also host youth sports, football, concerts, and community events. Other features will include suites, a club section, locker rooms, and supporters’ section.
