Thunder ends poor form with storming performance

In the last six games of the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team had lost four, but this came to an end when the Thunder triumphed away against the New Orleans Pelicans by 102-91 on February 4. Russell Westbrook also hit his 45 point career high for a second time.

Westbrook stated that his main focus was teamwork and getting the win. Before the game, the Pelicans had six wins out of seven, so the form book certainly suggested a home win.

The teams were closely matched though, although the first period ended with the Pelicans up 57-51. Their lead jumped to 68-57 by the middle of the next period, but the Thunder quickly scored 15 points in less than five minutes. The Thunder was losing by two points around the last five minutes of the game, but scored 13 points in that time, with Westbrook heading the team.

Scott Brooks, the coach for the Thunder, praised Westbrook for his competitive nature, talent, and his ambition, adding that this is what makes him a good player and will serve him well in his career.

Businesses often sponsor sports teams to gain publicity, with big companies encouraging players to participate in their advertisements. A printing business might be able to buy some ad space on a home court if they helped sponsor the Oklahoma City Thunder.
