Oklahoma City residents highly satisfied according to survey

According to the 2019 Citizen Survey, Oklahoma City residents are some of the most satisfied with their city in the nation.

Craig Freeman, the city manager, expressed the local government's pride in how content residents are to live in Oklahoma City. The city will take advantage of community feedback to continue to move the city forward. Local representatives are hoping to uphold the city’s reputation a resident backing with the City Council leading the way.

Almost 90% of Oklahoma City residents rate the city as excellent or good as a location of residence. Large cities in America with populations 250,000 and over average approximately a 50% satisfaction rate.

The biggest challenge for the city each year, quality of the streets, remains unchanged. Less than 10% of residents approve of the streets, which has been the case for two years. Around 80% of residents believe it should be one of the city's biggest priorities in the next couple of years.

The program Better Streets, Safer City, which was approved by voters, has begun to devote effort to resident complaints. It invests $1.2 billion in infrastructure with most of it going toward streets and connected projects.

The ETC Institute has offered the six-page survey for 13 years. It gives the survey to random households in the city. About 1,200 individuals completed the survey. Print shops often create surveys for organizations.
