There are several construction projects planned in Oklahoma City, funded by various grants.

City officials have received a grant totaling $300,000 in order to fund the cleaning of properties that are not well used and to make environmental improvements. According to Larry McAtee, councilmember for Ward 3, Brownfields Assessment Grants have provided funds for private and public projects for redevelopment for around 13 years.

Brownfields are properties that are underused. With thorough analyzation and by controlling environmental contamination, they can be ready for renovation.

City leaders stated that the current grants would go toward future Core to Shore development, which is the central part of the city and spans to the Oklahoma River. Analyzing the amount of petroleum in the environment will take up one third of the grants, while assessing hazardous substances will take up the rest.

The Environmental Protection Agency has invested over $10m in Oklahoma City brownfields with the addition of the new grants. They have inspired private and public development totaling almost $1bn.

The city will also receive $10m worth of infrastructure grants for airports by the Federal Aviation Administration. Clarence E. Page Municipal Airport, Wiley Post Airport, and Will Rogers World Airport will see improvements in their infrastructure. Elaine L. Chao, Secretary of the US Department of Transportation, said the rehabilitation of the airports would enhance safety.
