OKC National Memorial & Museum plans growth

The approaching Oklahoma City bombing’s 30th anniversary has prompted plans for a three-story expansion of the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum and it will be named Foreword.

The name Foreword refers to the feature of the same name found in some books. The museum’s Foreword will serve as a prequel to the rest of the museum with construction scheduled to begin this fall. The project has been in the planning stage for over a year and will include glass elevators, additional security and a new film studio.

Brochure printing services can be a be a key part of any marketing campaign regardless of whether you wish to promote a location, product or event.

The project designers for Foreword expressed that they felt honored to work on the project with Torrey Butzer explained the extension’s look this way:

“The gates of time inspire the façade’s colors and proportions."

The Alfred P. Murrah federal building met its violent demise in 1995 and items at the Memorial and Museum extension will include granite salvaged from the site along with salvaged artwork from the building. Items such as these are chosen for their ability to transport visitors back to 1995.

According to the museum’s website, in late 2025 a groundbreaking ceremony will take place although the organization is still in the process of finalizing a budget. Donations are being accepted.
