A star-studded spring awaits, as Molly Ringwald and The Beach Boys will be in Oklahoma City in the first half of this year.
On March 24 at 1:00 pm, popular 1980s actress Ringwald will speak to the Oklahoma City's Junior League during the third yearly event Speaker of the City. Ringwald starred in classic movies such as Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, and The Breakfast Club. Recently, she was in The Kissing Booth, a Netflix original, and is currently part of the cast of Riverdale.
According to the Oklahoma City Junior League president Pam Campbell, the organization is happy to welcome Ringwald to the city and believes her words will be inspiring. This event will take place at the public farmers’ market and costs $50.
Also, part of The Beach Boys' summer tour will be in Oklahoma City on May 4 to fundraise for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Oklahoma and the children's program for the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank.
John Occhipinti, resident of Edmond and producer of the show, says the band has played in the city twice since 2007. The band is excited to start the tour in Oklahoma and help the causes, and the community is welcome to attend to the concert and help conquer cancer and hunger.
