OC bar makes top US watering hole list

An Oklahoma City bar has garnered a spot among the country’s 27 best bars on the 2024 USA Today list of Bars of the Year.

The list was compiled by a network of food writers for USA TODAY from across the country and includes high-end cocktail bars, low-cost dives and everything in between.

Oklahoma City’s own Edna’s, a beloved local bar and the originator of the Lunchbox cocktail, has been in operation for 35 years. Its original owner Edna Scott built the business and created the first Lunchbox.

Small Promotional Products provide an excellent way for new businesses to establish and promote themselves, especially when they have such an accolade.

Tammy Lucus, Edna’s daughter and the present owner of the bar said this about their making the list:

"It's pretty crazy and quite an honor. My mom just built such a legacy there. That place has a life of its own. It's bigger than us."

Edna’s signature drink, the Lunchbox, was an accidental creation of the owner’s own making. It is Coors Light and orange juice with a shot of amaretto. The mistake grew to become a favorite drink for regulars and was joined by a number of variations on the drink menu as well as at least a couple of secret off-menu options.

Also, on hand to build their customer's thirst are an assortment of bar snacks such as chicken fingers, wings, and loaded fries.
