The yearly deadCenter Film Festival in Oklahoma City is going virtual for 2020.
This is the 20th year for the event, in which some of the most talented filmmakers come from across the globe, and local fans of film gather to socialize and network every year. Around 30,000 people attend the festival in normal circumstances.
The deadCenter Film Festival is the biggest film festival in the state. The short films featured include comedies, horror movies with monsters, thoughtful documentaries, and more. Many of the films have won previous awards. In addition, the festival features panels on filmmaking, celebrity discussions, film classes, and readings of screenplays.
Tickets for individual film screenings are $10, although these may not be available for all films. Most attendees purchase an all-access pass, which is $100 – half of its original price this year. Pass holders will have access to a drive-in movie pop-up and other benefits. Officials from the press must apply for a press pass by June 5.
deadCenter is a non-profit with no government assistance. Private businesses, organizations, and individuals fund the festival. It mission is to encourage creativity in and appreciation of filmmaking. The organization also has an education program for Oklahoma students.
The festival takes place from June 11-June 21. Poster printing is used to advertise movies at festivals and catch the eyes of potential audiences.
