The age at which a person can obtain a learner’s permit has been pushed back six months to 15 years of age. This change makes waiting the required 180 days and obtaining 50 hours of behind-the-wheel training easier to complete before a teen’s 16th birthday.

“They didn’t know if they’d be waiting in long lines, going to actually be able to take their test. This is guaranteeing that hey, we’ve got a spot for you when it’s your time.”
The Sweet 16 Guarantee is to be launched exclusively at the OKC Service Oklahoma Drive Test location in proximity to I-240 and Walker along with the Broken Arrow location. In addition to the other requirements, youngsters will have to finish the free Work Zone Safe course before they can book their special appointment online for their birthday.
