Dinosaurs interact with city residents

Jurassic Quest is about to tour North America, with a stop in Oklahoma City.

This traveling exhibit is the biggest dinosaur experience in the nation, and also the only one that features models that are true to size. The company has two shows with 80 dinosaurs in total. The designers implemented the intricacies of each furry, feathered, or scaled replica with consultative paleontologists.

Attendees travel to three prehistoric eras - the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods - and see dinosaurs from each. Many of the creatures can move and make noise, while others walk and interact with guests. Children can ride on a tyrannosaurus rex or carnosaur. Attendees can expect mischief from the younger “dinosaurs” who love to nibble clothing and play pranks. They also pose for pictures to help families make memories of the visit.

After seeing the dinosaurs, families can dig for fossils, see real fossils up close, walk through a maze, slip down slides, and ride a bungee pull.

Oklahoma City guests can visit Jurassic Quest in the fairgrounds at 3001 General Pershing Boulevard. Tickets range from $21.50-$40. Dates available for the exhibit are July 31 to August 2. On July 31, the exhibit will be open 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On August 1, it will be open 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. The hours for August 2 are 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
